The Beachcomber's Year End function was held at the NSRI on Tuesday, 2 December 2014 where the Club's performance and was growth was highlighted, special thanks were made and, most importantly, trophies were awarded...Highlights For 2013 one of our main goals was to get more members and for 2014 it was to increase the photo quality. Daryl Visser & Hein Beukes Hosted a Monochrome Outing at Pelican Island. It was a gorgeous, warm and sunny winter's day, Pelican Island abundant with beachgoers. Fishermen, paddle boats, kiteboards and kids all having fun and at 2.30pm, along trundled a group armed with Camera Backpacks, cameras, lenses and tripods..... Definitely not the "Average Joe's" beach gear, but least Daryl's cooler-box made us look like we fitted in with the crowd! This month's outing was a 2 part event. The aim was that we all take similar photographs of the same subject and then following a talk and demonstration on post processing,…

20+ people joined Hein Beukes at the Small Craft Horbour for a Twilight & Night photography session. The evening began with a beautiful sunset, for a moment we forgot that we were there to learn about night photography and everyone just clicked away, capturing the beautiful display of colours unfolding in front of our eyes. There was a quick sharing of information and general settings to be used as a baseline. All found their preferred angle and clicked away. The "Silver Sea" passenger ship provided some needed focus and formed the lead subject between the reflected lights. With some groans and pains, Graeme…
